WALKING TOUR - SQUARES AND FOUNTAINS

Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Navona Square, Campo dei Fiori (field of flowers)

The tour will start from eighteenth-century Spanish Square, the Spanish Steps, it is one of the most famous squares in Rome, it owes its name to the palace of Spain, Embassy of Spain of the Vatican, it was the first public promenade for the Romans and soon the place of appointments for fashion shows, a meeting place for poets, writers and artists who came to Rome, the eighteenth-century witnesses are the eighteenth-century bars that have kept the furniture of the time, in the center of the square there is the famous Barcaccia fountain, which dates from the early Baroque, sculpted by Pietro Bernini and his son, the famous Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The tour will continue to the Trevi Fountain one of the most famous fountains in the world, the history of the fountain is closely linked to that of the Virgin of the aqueduct, which dates from the time of Emperor Augustus, Agrippa when he brought the water up to Pantheon and its bath .The Pantheon, Emperor Hadrian's masterpiece, inspired artists from all over the world and still surprises for  the perfect harmony of the dome, built as a temple to all the gods it houses the remains of great artists like Raphael but even the king of Italy, the promenade will  continue to Navona Square once the Pontifical square, redesigned in 600 by great artists such as Bernini and Borromini to below which we can observe the remains of the Stadium of Domitian. Our promenade will end in field of flowers a meeting place of young people, but where once there was the theater of Pompey made in 55 A.D.
