Cerveteri Etruscan Tombs
In ancient times, the Etruscans believed in some form of earthly survival of the deceased. This gave birth to a need of ensuring burials and provide them with references to the world of the living, to reproduce their homes and to realize real cities of the dead. The graves were then made to look like the houses of the dead, both in architecture and furnishings, together with the body were also buried the most personal possessions and precious, clothes, jewels, weapons, everyday objects, on the walls of the tomb were painted scenes that reproduced the deceased hobby or typical moments of their lives such as banquets, athletic games and dances. The tour that we propose will allow you to see how much we actually know of the Etruscans and how they influenced the city of Rome, the gladiator fights were actually important Etruscan funeral rites accompanied by music and dances.
